Mallorca Press informs that Pedro Vaquer’s Nadir sailboat, from the Port d’Andratx Club de Vela, has been the best Spanish of the Nations Trophy played since last Thursday at the Royal Yacht Club of Palma. Italy wins the country championship and the Skorpios takes the ClubSwan 50 World Cup

The Italian squad formed by Ulika, by Andrea Masi, and Cuordileone, by Leonardo Ferragamo, has been awarded the Nations Trophy of the Nautor’s Swan shipyard. The regatta was held since last Thursday at the Royal Yacht Club of Palma with the participation of 41 vessels from 14 countries, divided into the Swan 36, ClubSwan 42, Swan 45 and ClubSwan 50 classes.

The best-ranked Spanish ship has been the Nadir (Port d’Andratx Club de Vela), of owner Pedro Vaquer, who finished fifth in the ClubSwan 42 class, a category in which the European Championship was at stake. The Mallorcan crew has collected the Juan Sebastián Elcano Prize, commemorating the fifth centenary of the first round the world, from the Spanish Navy admiral Jaime Rodríguez Toubes.

The Aifos 500, patronized by Rodríguez Toubes, has finally had to settle for the eighth place of the ClubSwan 50 class after a bad day in which the wind has been very unstable and it has only been possible to start a race.

The new ClubSwan 50 world champion is Russian Skorpios, from Dmitry Rybolovlev, while the same title in Swan 45 has been for Fever, by German shipowner Klaus Diederichs. The winner of the new Swan 36 class, which has been released in this competition, has been Edoardo Ferragamo at the helm of Thirtysix.
