Despite conditions, according to the weather reports, not very favorable for sailing, this Sunday dawned sunny and with a breeze from the N-NW. It seemed that the high temperatures would generate thermals in the S quadrant, but on the Andragense coast, unexpected atmospheric phenomena always surprise. With a breeze of five to six knots from the N – NW that would intensify to gusts of ten and in some phases would drop below five, the ORC 1/4 class took off for the first time with a windward – leeward route between La Mola and the Dragonera of 7.7 nautical miles, followed by the ORC 5 class on a shorter route of 5.8 nautical miles. Two exciting upwind runs and two complex downwinds made the day an exciting single test, the first of the year, in which Robert Rauhofer’s Folkboat “Rocinante” won over “Teseo” and “Calabruix” and where in the larger class the “Settebello”, 45 feet by Hans Peter Woelfert, first in real time and offset followed by “Just the Job” and “Jolie Voile”.
