This weekend the Federation Cup reserved for boats of the Optimist, Laser 4.7 and Techno 293 classes was held in Playa d’en Bossa and Figueretes, under the organization of the Ibiza Yacht Club, together with the Balearic Sailing Federation and the sponsorship of the Trasmapi shipping company.

The competition has been marked by strong winds that did not allow the fleet consisting of 80 Optimist, 30 Laser 4.7 and 45 Techno 293 to go sailing on Saturday. On Sunday with strong winds of between 20 and 15 knots of the Northwest component, if it was possible to compete and four tests were completed for all participating classes, taking the Federation Cup as valid, in a magnificent work done in the two regatta areas provided by the organization.

In the Optimist class, the dominators were the Mallorcan sailors who took first places. Aina Garau of the CN S´Arenal was the champion in this class, followed by Xavier García of RCN Palma, who was the second classified and Lucia Busquets (RCN Palma), who finished third.

In the sub-13 category, the winner was Tim Lubat, from the Port d’Andratx Sailing Club, and in sub-11 Ignacio Martín won the RCN Palma. Very good performance was also made by the CN Sailor Sant Antoni Leonardo D’Angelo who finished in 22nd place in the general and third in the sub-13 category.

In the Laser class 4.7 victory of the Menorcan of the C.N. David Ponsetí Citadel that was imposed on Daniel Cardona of the club N. S´Arenal second and Borja Florit of the C.N. Citadel that finished 3rd overall. The first Ibicenco was Roque García 10º belonging to the C.N. Ibiza

In Techno 293, the best was Nacho Baltasar of the CN Sa Rápita. The silver was taken by Bernat Tomás of the CN S´Arenal and in third place finished the Menorcan of the CN Fornells Borja Torres. The natural sailor of Formentera Zoe Fernández was the first female classified, occupying the seventh place in the general classification. Nicolás Madero of the CM Sant Antonio de la Playa, fifth in the final general, occupied the first position in the U-15 category and Gisela Colomar of the Surf Formentera Club was the first U-15 sailor.

At the end of the day on Sunday the corresponding delivery of Trophies was held in the club’s social premises.
